Grafton Academy expands
After the success of the Buildbase Academy, Cortexa have landed a major deal with their parent company Grafton Merchant GB.
GMGB’s main focus is builder’s merchants, plumber’s merchants, DIY retailing and mortar manufacturing, with leading market positions in Ireland and the UK.
The academy comes complete with a library of manufacturer content that GMGB staff can easily access. GMGB reward staff for completing modules successfully. This means that merchant knowledge gaps can be quickly closed, leading to improved performances and increased productivity and efficiency.
Steve Thompstone of GMGB said:
“We have been using Cortexa’s e-learning for over two years and decided to extend the reach of our online academy to the whole of the GMGB at the end of last year. In the current climate we see high levels of Customer Service as critical to our success. The GMGB Academy is a cornerstone for our training plans in the future.”
The GMGB Academy and library is scheduled to be rolled out to subsidiary companies during 2009.
Mark Parrish, Managing Director of Cortexa gave his analysis of the benefits:
‘The GMGB Academy builds on the success of the work done in the past 2 years with Buildbase, and was a natural step for the Group. The GMGB Academy will have the same staff reward scheme for learning which reflects the important link that exists between Learning and Development and commercial performance.’
The partnership between GMGB and Cortexa looks set to continue developing innovative and exciting e-learning that will now be accessible to a wider audience.
