H+H UK | Modules and academy

H+HH+H UK Ltd has recently launched an online training initiative, providing access
around the clock to customers, in order to promote aircrete and its benefits to the industry.

H+H Academy - Jenny Smith Andrews

Not just another brick in the wall...

H+H, based in Sevenoaks, manufactures the market leading Celcon range of blocks, including Foundation Blocks and the H+H range of large format aircrete products.

Jenny Smith-Andrews, Marketing Communications Manager at H+H wanted to develop a way of allowing their own staff to understand more about their product. She also wanted to provide a tool for those who work as part of H+H’s wider supply chain, like their partner builders merchant branches.

Over 1400 distribution and merchant partners needed detailed product training pitched at the right level. With limited resources available this was a demanding challenge. “My advice to anyone doing this would be to take your time when deciding what you want to present in the module, and talk to Cortexa about how they can best help and support the initiative and ultimately what you want to get from it.”

The Cortexa experience...

Jenny first met Cortexa at the 2009 NMBS exhibition. The service Cortexa offered seemed to be a good fit across a number of key industry partners.

“It seemed the obvious platform to use” commented Jenny.

Jenny worried that the production of an e-learning module could be a daunting task. Especially being new to the company, industry, and e-learning at the beginning of the process.

Now having almost completed the second module she feels the production has ‘actually been quite easy’. Jenny made a point of working closely with Cortexa’s Project Manager, making the process feel easier.

The deployment of the first module to staff through the H+H Academy appears to be proving quite successful. It is also being made available through one of the buying groups academies. Interestingly, the first H+H module has also been delivered to educational professionals. Lecturers have used it to teach their students about H+H products and the concepts behind them.

Jenny believes the partnership between Cortexa and H+H will continue during 2011. A second module is due to be launched onto the H+H academy, as well as through the Cortexa merchant network.
