Merchant module & academy success

Cortexa has recently launched the PTS Spares module. The module delivers valuable information to PTS staff regarding the spares market and customers, as well as how to effectively use internal systems to locate parts.

PTS Operations Director, Martin Farrelly said “Having well trained staff will help customers to make an informed decision on which spares they need, making the whole trade counter experience much more efficient and enjoyable for the customer.”

The module was completed in collaboration with several PTS key suppliers; each providing content for areas of the course. This type of collaboration is something Cortexa will be looking to develop in the future.

It further demonstrates the abilities of the Cortexa network, not only to supply product knowledge from manufacturers to multiple merchants, but also for developing merchant specific knowledge at the frontline staff level.

With a PTS backed incentive for completing the module, great success has already been had with over 1,500 course accesses since its May 2011 launch.

Martin Farrelly added “The PTS training academy gives staff the chance to access training courses at a time to suit them. Our employees are always keen to learn more about the ranges we stock so that they can better assist customers on the shop floor.”

The success has spread throughout the other PTS Academy modules, with over 2,000 hours of learning completed over the past 3 months.
